Spade & Sparrows is a wine label owned by Kaitlyn Bristowe, a celebrity known for her time on The Bachelor franchise, winning Dancing with the Stars, and most notably the internet’s relatable BFF and authentic podcast host. The team had launched the wine with much excitement and success, but needed a solid plan to grow from e-commerce to U.S. retail markets. As their Creative Director I led the website completion, retail and brand collateral designs, paid ad and email strategy and content, and a robust set of decks to navigate our way through the illusive world of beverage.

  • Spade & Sparrows is truly “great wine, without the rules.” Perfectly pairing with the modern day millennial woman’s everyday–from laundry to Postmates—the brand was meant to blend with all of life’s ups and downs not just the special occasions. Led by a team of badass women including co-founder and CEO Kaitlyn Bristowe, the team was ready to expand into the U.S. market but needed some new systems and processes in place to hit the ground running.

    My first project as Creative Director was to lead and launch the website to completion, perform ongoing maintenance, and build pages and plug-ins as needed. This grew into several projects: designing the retail, event, print and digital assets across all marketing vehicles for each state launch; a Paid-Ad Strategy with clear customer journeys of exposure and targeted short form video creative across platforms; Target Audience analysis, reviewing industry and brand data to optimize the reach and message to their customers; an Email Marketing plan to systemize and craft a calendar of content; the curation of a Sales & Retail Graphics Lookbook to allow the portfolio of assets to be utilized by the Sales Team across the nation; and the completion of a number of Brand Workshops to analyze our current growth opportunities, review new visual directions and establish habits for long term success.
